Good Butt Joint (Uniform Bead) |
1. Butt Welding: Butt-welding is a reliable and most important jointing method in HDPE Pipes. This method is heat pressure related process by which the pipe end material of two pipes are fused together under pressure creating a homogenous pipe structure. Simple in its idea, the butt fusion process demands high accuracy to give the final product i.e. a BUTT WELD. However, the method is very simple and reliable. |

Electrofusion Coupler |
2. Electrofusion: In electrofusion, the pipe and electrofusion coupler, or pipe and electrofusion saddle, are heated by means of resistance wires and fused together. Power is supplied through an automated electrofusion control unit. In case of the fittings a finely controlled shrinking force released by the heat generated produces the necessary fusion pressure for jointing. The electrofusion jointing method is preferred mostly for gas distribution networks for taking out tapping connections. NOCIL undertakes piping jobs by incorporating electrofusion-welding technology on request. |
